Description
A local farmer carries a load of straw home to his village of Chumling, Nepal.
This village in the lower reaches of the Tsum Valley was one of the last heavily forested tropical stops as we headed east up the valley towards Tibet.
The chortens are ubiquitous in this area and typically adorned with flat stones engraved with prayers, left in the memory of a departed family member. The local farmer is of course dutifully walking with the chorten on his right, effectively passing in a clockwise direction
